SailFast — Gotta Love It!
During my visit to the Annapolis Sailboat show in October, I stopped at the SailFast booth and purchased a couple of products that I’ve fallen in love with.
First, I got the SailFast Sailcloth Tote. It’s ruggedly made out of sailcloth remnants that have been rescued from the sail loft instead of being sent to the trash. The size is perfect — I can fill it to the gills and the heavy duty zipper still reliably zips. It’s large enough to hold what I need, but small enough so that it’s not too heavy to carry when I’ve got it loaded down. It also has an additional inside and outside pocket so that I can keep everything organized.
Second, I got the Bamboo “Silhouette” Shirt in Chocolate. I’m not big about having writing and flashy logos on my clothing. But, I found the SailFast artwork very attractive. The bamboo cloth is extremely soft and light weight. I can’t wait to wear this shirt in hot weather because I think the light weight and soft feel will be perfect for being on the water during those hot summer days. As for the autumn weather right now, it’s a great layering piece that works with a lot of my outfits. The cut of the shirt is nicely shaped and the length is long enough that I don’t have to worry about overly exposing myself as I move around the boat.
Overall, I feel that I’ve definitely gotten my money’s worth for these products. The folks at the SailFast booth were extremely helpful and great to talk to. If you would like to see more, you can watch Doug Metchick talk about his products in this YouTube video:
